Attention all incoming 7th graders for the 2024-2025 school year, Please read the following attachment from the LTMS Nursing Department regarding required immunizations.
Parents & Students, LTMS will be administering the first STAAR test tomorrow April 10th. Students will be taking the ELA (Reading) test. Please make sure your child gets a good nights rest in order to be at their best tomorrow. Also we ask that all students follow these rules for testing:
No pajamas, blankets, pillows, or stuffed animals.
Students may bring a snack that is no bigger than a quart sized bag. Please do not bring snacks that leave residues (takis, cheetos, doritos) as tests are administered on computers.
Also no glass bottles will be allowed in the testing rooms.
Students do not need to bring backpacks tomorrow.
Students needing to make up hours will have an opportunity for "Double Hours" again at Saturday School April 6th from 8:00am to Noon. Please take advantage of every opportunity to make up your hours now and not during summer school.
LTMS will have "Saturday School" for attendance make-up hours on March 23, 2024. The time will be from 8am to Noon. If students attend all 4 hours they will receive double that time off of their total.
Reminder: LTMS will be holding an open house on March 7th. Please read the attached flyer.
Parents tomorrow we will be having our ELA Benchmark for all students. Please make sure that your child is on time so that we may begin testing as early as possible and ensure all students have enough time to finish. They are allowed to bring into their testing room a water only and nothing bigger than a quart sized ziplock bag with a snack. We ask that any snacks they bring not leave a residue on their hands such as cheetos or takis so that the district's technology is not damaged. Thank You.
We will have after school "Attendance Camp" for students who need to make up hours. This will held on Thursday Feb 29th from 4:15-5:15 in the LTMS media room. Attendance camp hours will count double towards your hours.
LTMS Attendance Incentive for the week of 2/26-3/1
During Leon Taylor Middle School's Open House on March 7th there will be 14 STEM Activity Booths in the Media Room. The hands-on activity booths have been created by and will be run by our STEM 2 students. The activities are open to students and their family members.
Visit the booths and participate in the activities being offered such as robot coding, robot soccer, Lego challenges , designing a marble roller coaster, making a parachute, or building a catapult. The students will also be demonstrating their ability to build and code robots by having a Battle Bot tournament. Come see what STEM is all about.
LTMS Attendance Incentive for the week of 2/19-2/23. The grade level with the highest attendance for the week will get to spend Friday's advisory period outside.
Parents, the state has mandated that we have all families complete a home language survey. Your child will receive this form today during their advisory period to take home so please be on the lookout for it. This form is two sided and will need to be filled out completely with your signature included. The deadline to have this returned is Wednesday February 21st. The first advisory class per grade level to have all of their forms returned will win a pizza party. Thank you!

LTMS will be having another attendance contest between the grade levels. The grade with the best attendance for the week of 2/12-2/16 will be treated to pickles during advisory on Friday.

We have extended the deadline to today (2/12) only. We will accept cash or Cash App and have a set limit of only 200 orders. Please get your order in as soon as possible.

Cheer Parent Meeting- There will be a meeting for the parents of all cheerleaders and students which will be trying out for cheerleader. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 31st at 6pm in the LTMS Media Room.
